Andrea also worked with my therapist to make sure everyone involved in my healing journey was in communication. She made the ketamine process incredibly easy and comfortable. This is a wonderful ketamine clinic; whether it's a quick little poke with a needle or an infusion, this is the place to go to get your Ketamine treatments done. They have a very helpful and friendly staff. I have CRPS, and Ketamine infusions have been one of the few things that has actually helped.

FAQ

01

What does ketamine feel like

Ketamine is considered a dissociative anesthetic. This means patients may experience dissociation from the physical world, often siting a floating sensation and some visualizations. The onset of this experience can occur during the infusion and last into your recovery time. By the time you leave, most of these sensations will be gone.

Ketamine may also make you feel sleepy. We don’t recommend signing legal documents, driving, caring for small children, or other activities that require vigilance for several hours after your infusion. You will need an adult 18 or over to drive you home and stay with you for 6 hours after your infusion.

02

Is ketamine safe

Yes! Ketamine is an FDA (Federal Drug Administration) approved anesthetic and has been on the market for both humans and animals since the 1970’s. Before the FDA approves any medication for use in humans, it goes through rigorous safety testing, often taking many years. We have now been using ketamine safely in the anesthesia world about 50 years. More recently, scientist have noticed specific properties in ketamine that can help to relieve symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD and other mental health conditions and promote a metaphysical spiritual experience. The body of medical research on ketamine for its use in mental health and wellness has grown
exponentially over the last 5 years and we are learning more every day.

Ketamine is extremely safe. However, at Wellbeing we take your safety seriously and it is our first priority in your care. Considering Ketamine has anesthetic properties, we always have an anesthesia provider on staff. Anesthesia providers are the only medical providers qualified to handle any complications that may arise from ketamine infusions.

03

Is it legal?

Yes! The FDA has approved ketamine for its use as an anesthetic, making it legally available on the market for purchase and prescription by qualified providers. The administration of ketamine for mental health and wellness is considered an “off-label” use of this drug. This use case is not only legal but has a growing body of medical literature and research to support its use in mental health and wellness. While the FDA approves drugs for the market, it cannot control how or why medical providers prescribe or administer drugs. In fact, some sources estimate anywhere from 20-40% of prescriptions written are for “off-label” uses of drugs. This practice is legal and quite common.
